Your questions, answered!
We've got a lot of mails and queries from you all, I am answering all here!
Q. Didn't receive certificate / Where is my certificate / Resend me my certificate!
A. We've sent out all Participation Certificates and Winner Certificates to all those who were present and were in our records. To your surprise, we were keeping records and certificates are sent according to that only. If you didn't receive one, it'd straightly mean that you weren't present. Having said that, we won't be sending out anymore certificates.
Q. My team was a winner but we didn't receive prize!
A. We've received a lot of arguments and requests from teams that left the venue before winners were announced. The first basic rule of any Hackathon is that you have to stay until the end to be eligible to win any position! Consequently, we had to award the positions to the next best team which was present on-site. We're sorry but we wish there was anything we could do about that now.
Q. I want to know my team rank / May I know my rank?
A. As much as we wished we could tell you your rank, we cannot. Again, we're bound by the Hackathon rules which prevent us from disclosing team scores/ranks publicly. This is mainly to avoid conflicts or mismatch of thoughts among the participants and to avoid further conflicts.
We've also noticed that some participants are contacting our Judges directly for explanation of their judgement, this action is absolutely unacceptable. As much as we want to encourage you to keep building for good, we too expect you to show minimal sense of understanding that you were judged fairly and there was no bias-ness in judgement. Approaching a Judge and asking explanation for their work, only diminishes your image as an attendee and reduces your chances of being invited to our future events. We understand accepting the fact that your project wasn't chosen among the top can be tough for you to realize, but if you expected yourself to be in the top and could judge yourself, why participate?
Having said that, we won't be entertaining any of these topics or related topics anymore. Kindly don't reach out to any of the Organizers, Mentors or Judges for any such query.
We hosted Autumn Hacks to make Hackathons accessible and inclusive to everyone. Autumn Hacks was NOT a Competition, which is why we had no Prize Money either. We tried to make everyone's day by providing access to services for which you as a student, might not be able to afford. We hope our efforts will help you and you will keep building good together <3
Wishing you all a very Happy Diwali! :D
Best,
Vishal,
Team Autumn Hacks
